F.A.Q.

Q. Do I need to book tickets?
A. We only have a limited number of seats and once our limit is reached we can't fit anyone extra in the room! You are of course always welcome to just try your luck and turn up, but depending on the time of year, unless you have a booking we almost certainly won't be able to get you into the room, even if you already have unreserved tickets. At Christmas time especially, we usually run out of seats several months before the night.
Q. If I book tickets, will I get a seat?
A. Yes. We have a limited amount of seating and once we reach this limit we are unable to admit any further guests (even if they have unreserved or undated tickets already in their possession).
Q. Is the restaurant in the same location as the comedy?
A. Yes. We seat groups at their pre-allocated tables upon arrival. You can order food at any time off our tantalising menu. Food will be brought out to the table so groups can dine either before or during the show.
Q. What time does the show start?
A. Our shows start at different times depending on the time of the year. Our helpful staff will advise what time to turn up when you make your booking.
Q. Is there ample parking?
A. We have ample undercover and outdoor car parking. The entrance is the second and third driveways in Lever Street.
Q. I saw a comedy show at my local tavern recently and it wasn't very funny. Is Albion Comedy Club & Restaurant different?
A. When new comedians start, most need a lot of practice before they are funny and unfortunately for audiences, all comedians need to start somewhere! There are now several taverns and suburban pubs in Brisbane who have amateur comedy nights for new comedians to practice at. Albion Comedy Club & Restaurant only ever hires professional comedians who have several years experience. The vast majority of these comedians work on radio or television and are people we have seen perform before. This avoids subjecting our audiences to embarrassingly bad or profane performers who are painful to watch.
Q. When is the comedy on?
A. We have shows every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and occasionally on other nights if we have someone especially famous in town or if a large group requests a private show.
Q. What happens at the Albion Comedy Club & Restaurant?
A. Each night we have a completely new line up of about five or six comedians. The comedy normally continues for two and a half to three hours, then there is music for those who wish to party on or dance until late. The bar stays open till late as well.
Q. Will I get dragged up on stage?
A. No. We can organise special requests for birthdays, hens night etc. but otherwise you have nothing to fear.
Q. Can we eat there?
A. Excellent food is available. You can order at any time and waiters will bring the food down to your table. You can also get up at any time to go to the bar. There are short breaks between the comedians also.
